Swelling in left lower thyroid

Dear Patient: Hello ,it is cyst of thyroid which will never subside with any medicine.
its dissapearence is possible only with surgery.
surgery is a good option because at times any un expected accident can rupture it leading to super infection and unnecessary worry to the patient .
of course thyroid cyst was never found turning malignant, but it is always good to prevent its malignant transformation by not taking chance of letting it stay(by getting operated).
at times the cyst may cause pressure necrosis of the surrounding normal thyroid gland leading to hypothyroidism.
So,because of all the above indications your doctor advised you to under go surgery.take care.
