I am having sharp anal pain for the last couple of months

Dear Doctor: ?

Dear Patient: Hello, yes you have to undergo an operation to get rid of the polyp as any space occupying lesion in endometrial cavity could result in difficulty in implantation, and hence could result in abortion .as we cant estimate where the embryo chooses to implant.
the pain in anal canal could be because of anal fissure ,because any polyp or mass in female genital organs will not result in pain in anus unless there is a generalised pelvic inflammatory disorder.
so,to get rid of anal pain eat a lot of fibrous food ,drink 3 liters of water per day.
or can use any laxative for a week.
