Dear Patient: Hello, it can be positive not only in rheumatoid arthritis but also in many other conditions of the body , like connective tissue disorders. It is just a one of the diagnostic criteria of RA , whether it is RA or not it will be said by the general physician who will examine , because few of the diagnostic criteria are clinical criteria , that is they are Physically elicit-able signs and not checked out by any investigations .
