facial paralysis

Dear Patient: Young man, do not worry. You will be totally alright in three weeks time. Now I come to the disease you have caught with. This condition is called as 'Bell's palsy'. The nerve supplying to half of the face is known as the facial nerve. During it's travel from brain to face, it passes through the chamber of internal ear. So before this you probably had a runny nose or you might have had a drive in cold hours at night. So there is swelling in internal ear and this nerve is compressed. This leads to the paralysis of half of the face. This will NOT spread to the rest of the body. With proper treatment you will be alright in three weeks time.
