Dr. Praveen Sharma is a Consultant Gastroenterologist based in New Delhi, who is currently attached to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and the Satyam Medical Centre. Dr. Sharma, who holds an MD in Medicine and a DM in Gastroenterology as his postgraduate qualifications, specializes in liver disease and transplantation.

After his MD, Dr. Praveen Sharma worked as a Senior Resident in the Department of Medicine at the Hindu Rao Hospital and Northern Railway Hospital, Delhi from 2001 to 2004. He then pursued the DM degree, working as a Senior Resident in the Department of Gastroenterology at the GB Pant Hospital.

Dr. Sharma served as a Fellow Hepatologist in the liver transplant unit of Hospital Paul Brusse, Villejuif, France, from May to October 2008. This hospital is recognized globally for its expertise in transplantation in co-infected patients (HIV+HBV/HCV) and domino transplants. Later, he completed a one-month course in advanced endoscopy at Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan. From November 2008 until September 2011, he was the Assistant Professor (Transplant Hepatology) with the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Government of Delhi. He joined Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in September 2011.

Dr. Praveen Sharma has a large number of publications to his credit in national and international journals, and he has made a contribution to textbooks. He has won several awards for his presentations at conferences and other professional meetings.
