Dr. Ajay Kumar

Dr. Ajay Kumar is one of the well known urological specialists in Patna whose aim was to provide world class medical and health services to the poor and downtrodden, while conducting researches in different fields of Urology. His papers, presentations, and debates were appreciated at various national and international forums.

Dr. Kumar is of the opinion that besides the curative aspect of health management a lot has to be done in the fields of prevention of diseases. And, to achieve this the poor and semi-literate people need to be educated and made aware. It is with this idea in mind that Dr. Kumar established the Palm View Urology Center in Patna with the aim of providing high quality urological services.  

Dr. Ajay Kumar belongs to a very rare breed of medical professionals who combine academic excellence with concern for the poor and needy people. Dr. Kumar is a doctor with many facets - he is a scientist, an artist, a technologist, a social worker, and above all a humanist - all rolled into one.

Dr. Ajay Kumar started his medical career by obtaining a degree in medicine from the  Patna Medical College, which was formerly known as the Prince of Wales Medical College. Later, he went to the United Kingdom to specialize in the area of urology. Though he could have stayed back to pursue a highly lucrative career, he returned to serve his home state of Bihar with love and enthusiasm.

Being associated with the Indian Medical Association in various capacities, he became its National President, and took a lot of initiative in the survey and identification of prevalent diseases. He also organized the Rashtriya Swasthya Mela at various places in the state, where more than a lakh of people were examined for health deficiencies and provided medical support. As a national president of the Indian Medical Association, he has undertaken many projects and public awareness programs at the national level, such as 'Beti Bachao, Desh Bachao', 'Anemia Free Children', and 'Care for the Elderly'.
