Worked as an assistant Professor with Dr. P Siva Reddy in Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital from 1967 to 1979
He also worked as an Assistant Surgeon in the Nutakki Primary Health Centre in 1964 and from 1972-1979 as an incharge for Mobile Ophthalmolic Unit in the Vijayawada UGH
He introduced the micro surgery as well as I.O.L. surgery for the first time in the coastal districts
He started the faco operation for cataract and organised a workshop at his hospital
He organized free medical camps in the districts of Krishna, Guntur, Nalgonda, West Godavari and their surrounding areas for the poor and the needy and made awareness among the public
He operated on more than one lakh patients and gave them vision
He is working as a consulting eye surgeon for Swetcha Gora Eye Bank

On 27th Aug, 2000 he received National Award - 2000 from the union Minister Sharad Yadav on behalf of Delhi Telugu Academy for his free medical camps and making awareness among the people on the modern treatments

He received Dr. Malleswara Rao award from Andhra Pradesh State Eye Doctor's council for operating cataract in modern procedures
