Breach is the bottom down position of the baby, usually temporary position during the third semester. Usually by 36 weeks of pregnancy, most babies turn into a head-down position which is normal and safest fetal position for birth. Baby's in breach position are usually delivered by C-section. Sometimes a doctor can turn a baby from a breech position to a head-down position by using a procedure called an external cephalic version. There are three main breech positions: Frank breech, complete breech, and footling breech.
