Adenoids are masses of gland-like tissue that are developed on back wall of throat very close to tonsils. Similar to tonsils, adenoids also produce antibodies that help filter harmful germs that enter through nose or mouth. When these adenoids are inflamed and swollen due to infection, it develops Adenoiditis disorder. This is commonly observed in children and may sometimes affect adults.
Some of the symptoms of Adenoids disorder:
- Glands in neck are swollen
- Sore throat
- Closed nostrils and difficult to breathe
- Ear pain and other ear problems
- Sleeping disorders
