Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is also called emotionally unstable personality disorder or emotional intensity disorder.BPD is an invasive pattern of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image and emotions. This disorder usually occurs in early adulthood with an unstable pattern of interacting with others. The major causes of borderline personality disorder may be congenital brain abnormalities, genetics, neurobiological factors and environmental factors.
