Animal Bite is injury or wound formed from teeth of an animal. Animal bites would develop virus or bacterial infection, which can sometimes become life-threatening if not treated in right time. The basic guidelines should be followed to avoid serious threat when animals bite:
For minor wounds: the bite barely tears the skin, there is no danger of rabies. Wash thoroughly with soap and water, apply antibiotic cream and cover with bandage.
For deep wounds: the bite results in deep tearing of skin and bleeds. Press hard with clean cloth to stop bleeding and see the doctor immediately.
For infection: if the bite causes swelling, redness, pain or oozing, see the doctor immediately.
For suspected rabies: if you suspect the animal bite may cause rabies see the doctor immediately.

- Damage or infection due to scratching or tearing of animal
- Infected by bacteria or virus
- Venom introduces into wound
- Inflammation and itching
