Dr Abhijit Taraphder MD (Med), DM (Nephro) is one of the leading nephrologists in Kolkata practising since 1987. He is a Senior Consultant, Chief of Academics and Research, Department of Nephrology, at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata.

He received his medical degree from Calcutta Medical College (1982) and completed his MD in General Medicine from Calcutta University (1986). He received his DM in Nephrology from PGIMER Chandigarh (1991). He is excellent in academics and won several medals during his medical degree. He either topped or a rank holder in the entrance and final examinations.

Dr. Taraphder's academic interest is reflected in his many years of teaching experience at IPGME&R in Kolkata. He was also an Examiner, Paper-Setter and Thesis Adjudicator at several institutions in the country. He is an active member of the Indian Society of Nephrology, and has given lectures and presented papers at ISN events and other national and international conferences. Dr. Taraphder has also made several research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
