Dr. Charudutt Apte

Dr. Charudatta Apte is one of the eminent doctors, not only in Pune city, but in the entire region. Dr. Apte, who is an eminent neurosurgeon, has made inroads in the field of neurosurgery. Dr. Apte is presently working as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Sahyadri Hospital in Deccan Gymkhana, Pune. 

Dr. Apte's foray into the world of medicine started with his completing MBBS following which, he went on to do his Masters in Surgery from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore. At CMC, Vellore, he has had a brilliant career, and was awarded a gold medal for his post-graduation. Another feather in his cap was being awarded the Best Outgoing Student award from B.J.M.C. (Pune) in 1976.

Dr. Charudutta Apte has made a lot of valuable contribution towards community social causes. One of his major contributions was starting the "Samavedana" Charity fund in 2003 through which thousands of poor patients have benefited. He was also instrumental in starting the Senior Citizens Health Scheme under which specialty care was made affordable for senior citizens of Pune. Dr. Apte had taken up this initiative since he felt that there are a number of senior citizens who do not get insurance cover for medical treatment. 

The Sahyadri Group of Hospitals is Dr. Charudutta Apte's brainchild, which he started to offer quality services to the people of the area at relatively economical prices. He is the Chairman & Managing Director of the hospital group, and it is recognized as the largest chain of hospitals in the state of Maharashtra.
