He has completed his MBBS in 1987 and MS (ENT) from Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati, India.

He worked with other hospitals such as International Hospital and Pratiksha Hospital and also have an experience of 31 years as a General Physician. 

Dr. Gautam Khaund has also received several awards in the field of ENT and for his paper presentations at various ENT-related conferences.

He was an Editor of the Annual Journal of the North-Eastern Branch of Association of Otolaryngologists of India (NEBAOI) for 5 years and Treasurer of NEBAOI for 2 years. 

At present, he is the President of the North East Sleep Society and DHWANI (NGO for promotion of medical education). 

Dr. Gautam Khaund has several publications to his name in National and International journals.

He also handles live surgical workshops on specialised ENT topics such as Microscopic Ear Surgery, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) and Myringoplasty.
