About

    Dr. Kallol K Dey is one of the well known doctors of Kolkata, who has been recognized as one of the eminent neuro physicians who has made a name for himself as one of the best neurologists in the city. Dr. Dey is at present working as a consultant  at the B. M. Birla Heart Research Centre, the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI), and the Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital in Kolkata.


    Dr Dey provides clinical neurophysiology services to all the patients  across the city and the surrounding areas. He uses Micromed, the state of the art instruments procured from the UK, which uses the latest software to understand the functioning of the brain, nerves, and muscles. These neurophysiology techniques, apart from Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) & Electromyography (EMG), are used to look at the functioning of the peripheral nervous system, which include the nerve roots, plexus, the peripheral nerves, the neuro-muscular junction,  and the muscles.  


    Dr. Kallol K Dey has had a singularly brilliant academic record - he stood 5th in the state of  West Bengal in the Secondary Examination, and 15th in the Higher Secondary Examination. He did his MBBS, which was followed by MD in Internal Medicine from the IPGMER and SSKM Hospital, Kolkata.


    He went to England in 1999 and obtained his MRCP (UK) in 2001 and became the Member of the Royal College of Physicians, London. He trained in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology and had the opportunity to work at several premier institutes and hospitals in London, including the the Royal London and St Bartholomews Hospital,  Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, as well as the Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup, in the UK. He has also received training at the renowned National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queens Square, London.


    Dr Dey came back to Kolkata in May 2008 with a vision to provide a comprehensive and personalized service  the patients suffering from neurological illnesses in India. 


    He came to Kolkata with the mission to:

                        He was awarded the Sir J C Bose National Science Talent Search  Scholarship in 1989, the Dr Dey Gold Medal in Medicine, the J B Mukherjee  Medal, A Chowrashi Medal, Dr A K Basu Memorial medal  in Medicine, the Tilottoma Chatterjee Endowment Award, and the coveted IPGMER Gold Medal for his MD in Internal Medicine.


                        Dr Dey is a member of the Association of British Neurologists (ABN), British Association of Stroke Physicians (BASP), Indian Stroke Association, and the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), UK Chapter.
