Dr. Nurul Islam is a an Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist in Kolkata and Durgapur. He has a special interest in Fetal cardiology. He has a vast experience in performing Angiography in small baby weighing 1.2kg. with the help of Dr.V.Kohli, he also performed Intervention, Stenting, Ballooning, Device Closure, Coil Embolization, Septostomy, etc in children. He is also an expert with Fetal Echocardiography at early 18-20 weeks of pregnancy. Dr. Nurul Islam has a record of independently performing Atrial Septostomy in 6 hour old baby, PDA device closure in a baby weighing 4.8kg, Angioplasty in a small baby weighing 2kgs, ASD device closure in a kids who weighed 10kgs, COA Angioplasty in a baby weighing 4.6 kg. He also performed diagnostic angiography in complex cardiac lesions, Pre-Glenn & Pre-Fontan evaluation. He is the person who is practising cardiac intervention under Minimal radiation Technique and improvised the technique for the small baby.

Dr. Nurul Islam gave his OPD services in Peadiatric Cardiology in several parts of North India including Srinagar, Ludhiana, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Rohtak, Hissar, Agra, Mathura, Ghaziabad and Gangtok for about 3 years. He was also involved in charitable services at Sishumangal Hospital for the past one and half years. He was part of CHILD HEART FOUNDATION, NGO for taking care of heart diseases in economically backward families. 

Dr. Nurul Islam is a teacher and mentor to MD, DNB & MRCPCH students in Kolkata. He offers training in Pediatric ECG being the 1ST time in North India, basics of fetal echocardiography, pediatric echo.
