After completing MD (Obstetrics & Gynecology) from IPGMER & SSKM Hospital, Kolkata and DNB (Obstetrics & Gynecology) from National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Dr. Modi obtained a 2 year post-doctoral superspeciality Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine (FNB) from National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She has also worked as an infertility consultant with Dr. Baidyanath Chakravarty, at his prestigious Institute of Reproductive Medicine, Kolkata. Dr. Baidyanath Chakravarty is perhaps the most respected name and a pioneer in fertility sciences in India. Approach to treatment

Dr Modi is well adept at using the most advanced medical methods and techniques for diagnosis and treatment and her approach as well as success rate is well appreciated by patients, referring doctors and peers unequivocally. She simplifies the most complicated diagnoses for clear and transparent understanding of patients.

Dr Modi’s IVF success rate is higher than average as she makes use of sophisticated techniques like IMSI, blastocyst culture, gamete & embryo vitrification, if indicated.

Above all, she believes in basics first and a stepwise graduated approach towards more sophisticated and demanding techniques. According to her, as opposed to recommending complex IVF processes straightaway, most infertility incidences can be corrected by simpler interventions like proper reproductive counseling, adopting corrective lifestyle (with or without medication), getting the endocrine balance right, ovarian stimulation with right timing the fertilization and a structured approach to intrauterine insemination (IUI). She has a history of successfully treating many repeat IVF failure cases through above simpler interventions in keeping with her guiding philosophies of trust, transparency, ethical practice, empathy and consideration for psycho-social well-being of patient.

She believes that reproductive endocrinology (science of reproductive hormones) and fertility interventions are far more interlinked than commonly believed and understanding exact underlying endocrine factors is very important for proper diagnosis, increasing the success rate of simpler interventions and alleviating the need for more demanding interventions. She has considerable experience in management of complex reproductive endocrine disorders and their implications for fertility.
