Dr Sai Lakshmi Daayana is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynae-Oncologist at Apollo Health City, Hyderabad. She has a vast 18 years of experience as a Gynecologist in United Kingdom. In 2002, she was awarded MRCOG. She got her MD degree in 2009 from the University of Manchester, Manchester, UK for her research on HPV in female genital tract.

Dr Sai Daayana underwent sub-specialty training in gynae-oncology approved by the Royal College for 4 years as a clinical lecturer at the Christie hospital which is Europe’s largest cancer treatment centre. From the year 2013 to 2016, she worked as a consultant in gynae-oncology at St James Institute of Oncology, Leeds,  which is Europe’s largest teaching hospital.

Dr Sai Daayana holds immense expertise in the surgical treatment of cancers of the ovary, uterus, cervix, vagina and the vulva. Achievements & Contributions

  • I spent two years in full-time clinical and laboratory research with the university of Manchester, UK between 2004 and 2006. My MD research project was, ‘Phase II trial of imiquimod and therapeutic HPV vaccination for women diagnosed with vulval intraepithelial neoplasia’.
  • Following this, 2009-2013, I took a clinical lectureship in gynaecology oncology at St Mary’s and Christie hospital; Manchester, UK where I underwent Royal College approved sub-specialty training in gynaecology oncology whilst actively participating in clinical research. My area of research interest is lower genital tract neoplasia and HPV. 
  • I have 11 publications in internationally recognised scientific journals. I have contributed to many book chapters, presentations and lectures at various international scientific meetings.
