Dr. Samir Patil has completed MBBS and postgraduation (MD) in general medicine from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS), Sewagram, Wardha. He has also done DNB in Gastroenterology from P D Hinduja National Hospital, Mumbai. He has also done a course in principles and practice of epidemiology in 2001 at epidemiology and research centre CMC Vellore.
He is a consultant in gastroenterology liver diseases and endoscopy. He has expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy.
He is proficient in advanced GI therapeutic procedures. He is trained and experienced in basic and advanced therapeutic ERCP procedures and is also trained in performance and evaluation of high resolution oesophagal and rectal manometry (HRM). He has experience in 24 hr. ph. monitoring and video capsule endoscopy Endosono. He holds a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (I.B.D.). He also has research experience in I.B.D., non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, pancreas. He has won medals in Forensic Medicine and Internal Medicine. He is a life member of the Indian society of Gastroenterology (ISG), Indian Medical Association (IMA), Academy of Medical Sciences (AMS) and Digestive Diseases Society Nagpur. He has presented papers in national and international journals.
