Dr. Sasikumar Sambasivam is a Consultant Radiation Oncologist and Palliative Care Physician. 
His areas of interest are Organ preservation in Cancer Therapy, Technical advances in Radiation therapy, Breast, cervical, Head and neck cancers,Brain tumors and GI Malignancies.
He has vast experience in the field ranging from conventional 2D, 3Dimensional Conformal Radiation Therapy, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy, Image Guided Radiotherapy, VMAT / Rapid Arc /SBRT, SRS, SRT (X knife and Cyberknife VLSI) and Tomotherapy.
He has been instrumental in establishing the Brachytherapy Unit at Tanjore. He has profound knowledge on Brachytherapy for Gynaec Cancers, Head and Neck cancers , Breast and Soft tissue sarcomas. 

He is currently the Consultant and Head of the Dept of Radiation Oncology, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Centre for Oncology, Meenakshi Hospital, Thanjavur., Tamil Nadu, India. He has been instrumental in the NABH accreditation processes for the Department of Radiation Oncology. He established the Brachytherapy Unit and the day care Unit. 
He is also an important part of the Quality Training Programs along with CAHO/ CQP.
