Dr. Niranjan T J completed his M.B.B.S and postgraduation in Orthopaedics from Govt. Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, one of the oldest and best known medical colleges in India. He was awarded DNB Orthopaedics from National Board of Examinations under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. During the initial phase of his career itself, he was appreciated by many when he added life to the days of a 104 year old woman with hip fracture. He is well known for his high quality, state of the art, emergency trauma care operative procedures that is performed in accident and injury cases. More than 2500 patients with various fractures were successfully operated and they could return to their livelihood through his exceptional capability in doing trauma surgeries.
During his practice,Dr.Niranjan’s field of interest expanded to joint replacement surgery(Arthroplasty) which is a boon to patients who suffer from knee, hip & shoulder pain mainly due to osteoarthritis. He mastered the technique of arthroplasty from the veteran in the arena, Dr Kim In Kwon, an international figure in arthroplasty practising in Wilson’s Hospital, South Korea. Dr Niranjan got training in total hip and total knee replacement including revision knee replacement from Tartu University Hospital, Estonia. He has fellowship in Total Knee Arthroplasty from Andrea University, Rome, Italy under the guidance of stalwarts in replacement , Prof Fabio Conteduca & Dr. Frederick F.Buechel, the brains behind designing one of the widely accepted knee replacement systems. Dr.Niranjan is trained in shoulder replacement from Centre Hospitalies de Mouscron, Brussels, Belgium.He has received advanced training from AO trauma and did his master’s course in pelviacetabular surgery under the aegis of it. Dr. Niranjan is a member of AO Trauma Asia Pacific & Indian Society of Hip & Knee Surgeons.
