Angioedema is also called Quinckes edema. It is a condition of rapid swelling under the skin that may be caused due to allergic reaction. The allergens that develop angioedema can be animal dander, environmental exposure (water, sunlight, cold or heat), foods (as berries, fish, nuts, eggs, and milk), insect bites, pollen, and drug allergy. Angioedema may be hereditary.
Some of the symptoms of Angioedema:
- Sudden swelling below the skin
- Swelling may be seen around eyes, lips, hands, feet and throat
- Breathing difficulty
- Abdominal cramps
