Anaphylaxis is a serious and life threatening allergic reaction that can cause death. The allergic reaction triggers when your immune system overreacts to allergens. Anaphylactic reactions are commonly observed with foods, insect stings, medications and latex. It affects skin, respiratory system, gastro intestine, heart & vasculature and central nervous system. People with atopic diseases as asthma, eczema or allergic rhinitis are at high risk of anaphylaxis from food, latex, and radio contrast but not from injectable medications or stings.
Some of the symptoms of Anaphylaxis:
- Wheezing
- Red and itchy rash
- Trouble in breathing
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Stomach cramps
- Trouble in swallowing
- Tightness in chest

Consult a General physician or an Allergy specialist immediately when you find the signs of Anaphylaxis as the delay would lead to life risk.
