Carcinoma in situ (CIS) is also called situ neoplasm. Situ neoplasm is the collection of abnormal cells in its place. CIS usually don't form tumor but flat lesion in the skin, cervix, etc. Many forms of carcinoma in situ are progressed into cancer where surgical removal of the tumor is recommended. Some forms of CIS can be removed through endoscopy without conventional surgical resection. There are different types of carcinoma in situ are:
- Lobular carcinoma in situ
- Ductal carcinoma in situ
- Cervical carcinoma in situ

Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS):-
- A lump in the
- A rash on the nipple
- Fluid or discharge from the nipple
Lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS):-
- Microcalcifications on mammogram
- Lump on breast or abnormal area
