Ascites is the abnormal accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity. This may be caused due to liver disorders. When the liver doesn't work properly, fluids build up and fill the space between the lining of the abdomen and the organs. Cirrhosis, Hepatitis, Liver Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Congestive heart failure, Pancreatitis are few disorders that are associated with ascites.
