Acute Stress Disorder is an anxiety disorder that is affected after severe trauma. Some factors that develop ASD risk after trauma are: exposing to horrific or terrific events, extreme trauma, listening of violent death or serious injuries of family members or close friends, intentional cruelty, accidents and more. Acute stress disorder should be treated as early as possible if neglected it can develop to post-traumatic stress disorder (PSTD).
Some of the symptoms of Acute Stress Disorder (ASD):
- Psychic numbness
- Unaware of the surroundings
- Experiencing back the trauma in dreams
- Sleeping problems
- Tendency to avoid people, places or objects
