Ankle Sprain refers to tear or rupture in ligaments and is a very common foot injury. Ankle gets sprained when the foot is twisted irregularly, rolls or turns beyond its normal motions. This results in stretching the ligament beyond its range in an abnormal position. Risk factor would trigger in people playing basket ball, athletes and jumping sports.
Some of the symptoms of Ankle Sprain:
- Severe pain after twisting ankle
- Swelling
- May have bleeding under skin
- Unable to put weight on foot
