Arteries carry blood with oxygen from the heart to brain and veins carry blood with less oxygen reversely from the brain back to heart. In Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) brain, a tangle of blood vessels in brain avoiding normal brain tissues and directly allows the blood flow from arteries to the veins. AVMs are not very common but more likely observed in male than female. Brain AVMS are typically congenital and are not hereditary.
Some of the symptoms of Arteriovenous malformation Brain:
- Constant and severe headache
- Weakness and numbness
- Seizures
- Vision disorders
- Speaking difficulties
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor if have signs of headache, seizures or other factors that worry you. If AVM Brain starts bleeding, it can be a serious condition and may require emergency medical attention.
