Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) is unusual connection between arteries and veins. Arteries carry oxygen-rich blood to veins through capillary system where nutrients and oxygen from blood are extracted. In arteriovenous malformation blood flows from arteries to directly veins enabling capillaries. AVMs are congenital and can affect any organ in body.
