Urticaria is commonly refereed as Hives. It is a kind of skin rash with pale red, itchy raised bumps causing a burning or stinging sensation. They can be formed due to allergic reaction or non-allergic reactions. Autoimmune Urticaria is a disorder the patient\'s body makes auto antibodies resulting in mast cell and basophil activation which leads to release of histamine causing hives.
Some of the symptoms of Autoimmune Urticaria:
- Severe itching sensation
- Swelling that causes pain or burning sensation
- Batches of red or white welts usually on face, trunk, arms or legs
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor if you have signs of severe hives, dizzy feeling and swelling in throat or tongue.
