Bone loss is losing bone density. Bone loss may also be referred to as Osteoporosis and Periodontitis. Osteoporosis is a decrease in overall bone density and periodontitis is a condition where supporting bone around teeth exhibits resorption. Aging is one factor when the body may reabsorb calcium and phosphate from bones instead of keeping minerals in the bones which make weaker bones. This is called osteoporosis. People with smoking and drinking habits, medical disorders, women reaching menopause at early age would trigger bone loss. The body needs calcium, vitamin D and enough exercise to build strong bones.

Consult an Orthopedic if you have signs of Bone loss that worry you. The doctor may suggest the medication and calcium rich diet.
