Bronchoalveolar Carcinoma (BAC) is a form of lung cancer that is developed in small air sacs called alveoli in the outer region of the lungs. BAC often spreads to the lining of the lungs and other regions of the body. There are 2 main types of BAC: non-mucinous BAC and mucinous BAC. Non-mucinous BAC is more common that often found in smokers and mucinous BAC is less common and often found in non-smokers. The surgical resection is a potential treatment for the condition.
Some of the symptoms of bronchioalveolar carcinoma:
- Persistent cough
- Coughing blood
- Chest pain
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor if you have the persistent cough for a long time with the blood. The doctor will diagnose the condition and the treatment may include surgical resection.
