Burn Injuries are skin injury caused by burning of the layers of skin due to heat, electricity, chemicals, friction or radiation. The severity of the burns that range from first degree to third degree.
The first degree burns cause damage only to the outer layer of the skin. By running cold water for five minutes or longer, applying aloevera gel and antibiotic cream along with pain relief medication would soothe the injury.
The second degree burns damage the outer layer and the layer underneath which can be a little serious. Run cool water for 15 min's or longer and apply antibiotic as first aid treatment and can see the doctor for further treatment.
The third-degree burns are more severe damaging deepest layers of skin and tissues underneath. The damage can reach major bloodstream, major organs and bones which can also lead to death.
Some of the symptoms of burn injuries:
- Swelling
- Blistering
- Scarringrn
- Shock and death (in serious cases)

Consult a doctor if you have burns that cause serious injuries. The treatment and the medication depend on the severity of the injury.
