Carcinoma is a type of cancer that begins in the skin or in tissues that lines the body organs. Carcinomas are abnormal cells that divide without control which can spread to other parts of the body.
Carcinoma occurs in many types:
- Oral - oral cancers called squamous-cell carcinoma
- Breast -most of the breast cancers are ductal carcinoma
- Lung -there is a maximum percentage of lung cancer occurrence
- Ovaries - can be called critical as it is detected very late
- Prostate - Adenocarcinoma is a form of carcinoma of the prostate
- Colon Rectum- almost all malignancies of the colon rectum are either adenocarcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma
- Pancreas-pancreatic carcinoma is highly lethal and is almost adenocarcinoma type
Some of the common symptoms of Carcinoma:
- Fatigue
- Fever
- Chills
- Loss of appetite
- Weight loss
- Night sweats
