Carotid Bruit is caused by turbulent blood flow in an artery that supplies blood to the brain. A carotid bruit and basal heart murmur are confused in most cases as the sounds radiate throughout the body and a heart murmur will be heard.
Some of the symptoms of Carotid Bruit:
- Abnormal blood flow through carotid artery
- Weakness
- Paralysis
- Numbness or altered sensation in the arm
- Dysarthria or Dysphasia
- Unilateral blindness
