Glaucoma occurs due to the optic nerve damage which may cause loss of vision. The damage may occur due to the abnormal high pressure inside the eye. Glaucoma occurs in two types primary open-angle glaucoma and acute angle-closure glaucoma.
Cataract is an eye condition of cloudiness or opacity in the lens, blocks or changes the entry of light that affects vision. Cataract surgery can restore the vision loss from a cataract. The cataract surgery can cause a change in the eye's pressure and may result in Glaucoma.
Some of the symptoms of Cataracts and Glaucoma:-
- Gradual loss of peripheral vision
- Tunnel vision in advanced stages
Acute angle -closure glaucoma:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Eye pain
- Blurred vision
- Sudden visual disturbance in low-light
- Reddening of the eye
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor if you noticeable eye problems associated with other conditions as headache, blurred vision, and nausea. Early diagnosis may help in quick recovery.
