Breast lump is a mass of swelling, bulge or bump in the breast that feels different from breast tissue around it or the breast tissue in the same area of the other breast. Breast lumps are common in male and female but more common in females. Most of the breast lumps are non-cancerous and the various causes may be due to infection, trauma, fibroadenoma, cyst or fibrocystic condition of the breast.

Fibroadenosis:- It is a noncancerous fibrocystic breast disease
- Breast discomfort and general tenderness
- Itching
- Irregular lumps, cysts or swellings

Fibroadenoma:-It is a non-cancerous lump developed in the breast consisting of fibrous and glandular tissue.
- A round, smooth and solid lump
- May increase in size during pregnancy
- Painless lump
- Move easily when touched
- Rubber-like texture
Breast cyst:-A cyst is a closed, abnormal pocket of fluid like a blister that contains liquid, gaseous or semi-solid substances.
- Round with distinct edges
- Cyst may feel firm
- Usually disappear after the menopause
- Pain is unusual
Breast cancer:- some of the symptoms of breast cancer are
- Lump found in the breast or in the underarm area
- The size and shape of the breast may change
- The nipple may turn inward
- The skin on the breast or nipple may be scaly, red or swollen
- Nipple discharge
