Aortic Aneurysm is swelling or bulge in part of Aorta, which is the body\'s main artery. Aorta carries oxygen in blood from heart to other parts of the body. If Aorta bulges and burst, it can lead to serious bleeding and results in death. The Aorta wall is flexible to stretch and shrink for better flow of blood, but some medical problems as high blood pressure and atherosclerosis weaken the artery walls. This may cause Aortic Aneurysm or enlargement of Aorta.
Some of the symptoms of Aortic Aneurysms:
- Stomach pain and discomfort
- Chest pain
- Back pain
- Acute pain and bleeding (in serious conditions)
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor immediately if you have pain and signs of Aortic Aneurysm as the delay may lead to serious situations as stroke in brain.
