My Mom suffered from KidneyStone and due to which there was a urine blockage at ureter and caused infection within body.And because of this, she had lung infection and breathlessness. We had admitted her in Gleneagles Global Hospital Perambakkam Chennai at Emergency ward and they had the initial diagnosis done and informed us that there is a 5.5 mm kidney stone and it needs to removed via surgery since it blocked urine and caused infection to Kidney and Lungs and creatinine went upto 3.2. So they planned for a surgery very next day to put Kidney Ureter stent to byepass the stone to let the urine flow freely through the stent to the urinary bladder and then they were planning to remove the stone later. Very next day minor surgery was done to put the stent and she was in Surgical ICU for 1.5 days and later moved to general ward and got discharged within 4 days. Treatment was Ok but they charged us Rs.2.5 Lakhs from my Insurance and also We were not given good ward but General Special ward though my insurance has good coverage for Private ward but Gleneagles Global Hospital charges were too high and my mom was not eligible for private ward though she would have got it if it is some other hospital. Later my mom got dischared, she got breathlessness due to the stent and she was admitted in Emergency and they put her in ICU for 5 days and they charged Rs.75000 per day in ICU and charged a total cost of Rs.6.5 lakhs from Insurance and simply exhausted my insurance coverage. They took so many redundant tests during the treatment process and service was very poor in General Special ward and treatment was exorbitant and not worth at all. Doctors at Gleneagles Global Hospital are really upto the mark for their qualifications and most of them are inexperienced. I humbly request anyone who sees this review to think 100 times before you take treatment in Gleneagles Global Hospital Perambakkam. Also I had witnessed other patients were charged exorbitant price though they were not informed about such a huge treatment cost when they initially asked doctors for estimate of surgery. So, Gleneagles Global Hospital is a really money sucker and worst ever hospital in Chennai. For the people who are economically backward, please never approach Gleneagles Global Hospital as they will make you bankrupt.
