Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital Review

I recently lost my father due to the medical negligence that took place at Nanavati hospital and by the Cardiologist Dr. Lekha Pathak while we were on vacation in India. We demand justice for my father who was left in a vegetative state for 9 months at the young age for 57 after a cardiac stent procedure at this hospital. Lekha Pathak and Nanavati Hospital neglected to do any of the necessary scans and tests before the surgery and due to her over confidence and negligence my father died on June 26th, alone because we weren't allowed visit him due to covid. Please help share this so we can make sure this case is seen in court and not buried due to the connection and corruption that takes place India. While we traveling on vacation in India my dad had a heart attack luckily in hospital in the city of Goa. He was stable after and fine, after an angioscopy they noticed his left artery was 90% blocked. After clearing it, they said a stent was needed to be placed. Instead of getting it done there it was recommended we fly to Mumbai to get the stent procedure done by Lekah Pathak, the #1 cardiology in India and #2 in Asia. My father was fine we walked himself out of the hospital and onto the plane where we flew for an hour to the city or Bombay (Mumbai). We landed and checked into the ICU around 11 am and my mom and I met with the cardiologist. She said he spoke with my dad and then said “we should wait until Monday to do the procedure.†It was currently Saturday so we were fine waiting 2 days. As we were walking away she says “actually never mind stents are a simple procedure I’ve been doing this for 40 years and he’ll be fine it’s his first stent, people have 8+ so don’t worry we’ll just do it today†we said there’s no need to rush but she knows better than we do about medical stuff. We didn’t sign any papers and told her it’s ok to just wait to Monday. Her overconfidence lead to her deciding to do it that day, and she didn’t do any scans or tests herself prior to the surgery. After the surgery around 5 pm she walked out and said with her hands up and a smile, “I did it in 8 minutes†my mom and I looked at each other and asked her why, it’s not a race you should had taken your time. She told us there’s nothing to worry about that my dads ok and awake and being moved to the ICU and we can visit 1 at a time. My mom went in and talked to him for 10-15 mins then I went in and talked to him. I had a nurse, doctor and ward-boy with me and we were all talking with my father. He was laughing and joking around saying he feels ok. But we noticed he had labored breathes and was sweating. I asked him to be honest with us if he’s ok, and that’s when he went into shock and started having a seizure. I went to grab him but they pushed me out of the room. 20-30 doctors and the cardiologist cane rushing back in. They did a bunch of stuff and I noticed his HR, O2% and BP were falling by the 2s. The alarms then stopped and the cardiologist walked out and the first thing she says is “I knew I should had just waited until Monday†then when we ask what she said, she said “there’s no point discussing that now†then told us that he’s ok now but they didn’t know what happened. Right when she said that the alarms started going off again and his numbers started falling. She came back out and told us that apparently he had a slight crack/tear in his aorta before this that they didn’t notice. They also didn’t realize he was already on blood thinners from the previous hospital and gave him more. That tear in his aorta was being held together like a band aid by a blood clot. That clot dissolved due to the thinners they gave him again and his heart had an immuno response where liquid filled around his heart muscle causing such a pressure it stopped oxygen from going to his brain causing brain hypoxia. My father fell into a vegetative state for 9 long months until he recently passed away on June 26th at the young age of 57. During a family meeting with the cardiologist she ended the meeting saying “in my 40 years of doing this I’ve never had an issue with a stent surgery, honestly this all just bad luck†I got really annoyed at the statement and questioned her and asked “is it really bad luck?†She was offended but asked what I meant. “Is this bad luck or could this had been avoided?†She then replied saying “yes and no, it’s normally against my policy and the hospitals policy to take tests and scans from outside areas, we have to do them again at our hospital prior to anything but seeing how locals think were scamming them when ask them to do the tests again, and seeing how you're international, we didn’t want you guys to think we were scamming you so we never told you.†So I was ok great so you’re saying had you guys had not neglected to do the scans again and follow your own policy, and if you had not neglected to inform us of our options or even ask us if we wanted to do the scans again, you would had found the tear before, fixed it then done the surgery and he still be awake right now. She then said “yes but think practically if everything went well and you did the scans again, you probably would had sued us, which isn’t true at all. But A LOT happened along the way, propping my dad up on high dosage of meds above the legal limit, double charging in billing and over charging simply because we were international. Many of the doctor and nurses backed off in fear of the cardiologists power and pull in the hospital. The one doctor who told us to be careful around her because something happened during the procedure, was moved out of job in the ICU to the general ward the next day. Everyone knew something happened but was scared of her to say anything to us. Again it’s a lot more that happened and we flew him back here in feb and due to covid we weren’t able to bring him home so he was at Medford Care Center in New Jersey. The amount of neglect and lack of care he got there was astonishing and they ignored all my moms calls, we watched the front desk literally pick up and hang up. They rarely moved him so he ultimately died from the massive bedsores he had. We weren’t able to visit him since March until he died. They didn’t have any monitors hooked up to him to see if he needed help or was coding. They literally didn’t move him for hours if not days. We want to go after the nursing home but we want to go after the root of all this, the hospital in India and the cardiologist there. The issue is the amount of power she has in government and the medical community. We will get justice and ask if you can help us with any legal advice or recommend steps we can take please reach out. Also it's not possible that he had a tear in his aorta before the surgery because he flew in a plane after the heart attack. We believe she nicked his aorta in the procedure but tried to lie and hide that as well.

I went to Agarwal Eye Hospital through face book appointment for a routine check up in nanganallur branch Chennai. They took so much time to call me for the refraction. After the refraction I was taken to Dr Lakshmi. After examining I was told to come back on second of October for dilatation. I went today 6th October for dilatation . I went by 10.45 am in the morning. Once the review registration was over I was asked to be seated for dilatation .My eyeswere dilated by 11.15 am .Finally they called me at 12.15 pm to the doctor's room. There they could not come to a conclusion to prescribe me a glass. It was seen by Dr.Anu.I have been asked to come for another check up by this Friday afternoon. In this Pandemic situation how many times you will be asking the patient to come for review. Don't you think it is not safe for the patient. Further there is no monitoring being done to ease the patient for quick check up. Onlyone doctor was present today for screening. Will the management look on to this and take corrective action to avoid displeasure to the upcoming patients. Sridhar.
