Achilles Tendinitis is overuse of Achilles tendon, which is a collection of tissues that connects calf muscles at back of lower leg to heel bone. Inflammation in Achilles Tendinitis is usually short lived; in overtime the condition may progress to degeneration of tendon losing its organized structure to develop microscopic tears. Middle aged people and Sports persons have more tendencies to develop Achilles Tendinitis.
Some of the symptoms of Achilles Tendinitis:
- Stiffness, soreness or pain in the tendons of foot
- Tenderness and sometimes severe pain and swelling
- When tendon degeneration progresses, they are enlarged.
