Medical Officer in Rajan Babu Tuberculosis hospital Which is one of the largest hospital of Tuberculosis in Asia and is affiliated to Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi, from May 1985 to May 1990.

Worked as a Regional Tuberculosis focal Point in south Sharqia Region of Sultanate of Oman Recognized by the WHO TB Contol Proggrame in Sultanate of Oman from 1991 to 2004.

As a leading Respiratory Physician of India, Dr PS Mann has served the nation with utmost sincerity and dedication, both as a practicing Respiratory Physician and researcher, published innumerable papers, presented lectures on his new research and findings all over the world, provided team leadership to several groups of doctors and researchers from different parts of the country.


MEDICAL OFFICER IN Rajan Babu Tuberculosis hospital Which is one of the largest hospitals of Tuberculosis in Asia and is affiliated to Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi, from May 1985 to May 1990. Looked after Medical wards and chest clinics of tuberculosis patients and nontubercular chest diseases patients. Also looked after Pulmonary functions laboratory which had computerized P.K. Morgan's transfer test machine. Had experience of doing allergy skin tests, bronchocopies and other related medical and surgical procedures in respiratory medicine.
Worked as a chest physician in department of internal medicine, under Ministry of Health, Oman, since 11th June 1990.Started as a chest physician in Respiratory medicine unit of Royal hospital which is the tertiary care hospital in Oman. Did two short postings in Khasab hospital and Ibra hospital as leave vacancy postings during the stay in Royal hospital. Joined Sur Regional hospital in May 1991 and established the unit of Tuberculosis and Chest diseases in the department of Internal Medicine to provide the expert services to the whole south sharqia region health care institutions which has now four hospitals and thirteen health centers. Since 1991 I worked as a Regional
.

TUBERCULOSIS AND ASTHMA FOCAL POINTS for the whole south sharqia region. Looked after National TB control program as per the guidelines of ministry of health based on directions of WHO. I also worked for contributing my service s as one of the second on call internal medicine physicians in the department of medicine of Sur Regional hospital.
Sur Regional Hospital is a 250 bedded, fully computerized “paperless” hospital. The Hospital is equipped with separate units of cardiology, gastroenterology and respiratory medicine having all modern instrumentation and equipment.

I have acted as Coordinator, Hospital management Committee and Mortality assessment committee at the above hospital.

I have acted as Medical Superintendent and deputy Medical Superintendent of Sur Hospital on various occasions.

I worked in Respiratory medicine unit of Royal hospital from September 2002 to November 2002 for reorientation to bronchoscopy and other respiratory procedures in pulmonary medicine. During my stay there I independently did more than thirty bronchoscopies and eight invasive thoracic procedures. I also did bedside teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students. I also attended clinical physiology department of Sultan Qaboos University hospital for a week in November 2002 to get myself reoriented with the diagnostic tests and procedures done in that department.


Please note that at all the abovementioned positions, I have worked independently and gained administrative experience also.
During the above-mentioned tenures, I have independently handled various Respiratory Emergencies, management of Tuberculosis and other respiratory cases, management of other internal medicine cases and emergencies and various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in respiratory medicine and internal medicine, etc.
Since October 2004 I am doing my successful private practice in Delhi, India. I have established my “North Delhi Chest Centre and Quit Smoking centre” at 321 , Ground floor, Main road of Bhai Parmanand Colony , Delhi – 110009. Now I am working as Head of departments and Senior consultant Respiratory Medicine in the Departments of Respiratory Medicine Departments of Sant Parmanand Hospital at Civil Lines , Delhi and Max Hospital Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. I am heading the team of Chest Physicians at these two large private hospitals of North Delhi. We are doing everything required in Respiratory Medicine at these hospitals in Delhi.


TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have gained teaching experience of Five years during my Job in Rajan Babu Tuberculosis hospital affiliated to Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi, India from 1985 to 1990.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
A thesis submitted to the University of Delhi in 1987 under the guidance of Dr. S.K. Biswas, Senior Chest Physician, Rajan Babu Tuberculosis hospital affiliated to Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi, India, on the subject of “Pulmonary Functions in Miliary Tuberculosis with and without steroids along with antitubercular treatment”.
