Dr. Madhuchanda Kar is a leading Medical Oncologist of Kolkata, West Bengal. Her specialization is in the areas of solid malignant tumours and haematological malignancies. Dr. Kar is associated with Vikaspedia, a knowldge portal which is an initiative of Government of India. She is currently involved in 'Ca Survivor Meet and Rally on fight Cancer' which is scheduled to take place on 5th Feb 2015 and workshop on 'Ageing Population: Growing Cancer' which is scheduled on 10th Feb 2015 during which Dr. Kar is going to elaborate 'Cancer in Geriatric Over view, Challenge for Physicians, Thrombocytopenia, an overview'.
She has completed her MBBS and MD from University of Calcutta with distinction of being awarded gold medals. She was the recipient of ICMA talent search scholarship for post graduate studies.
During her distinguished career, Dr. Kar has been involved in various cancer related research projects and publication. Earlier, she has chaired prestigious positions such as Honorary Secretary of API - West Bengal Chapter from 2012 to 2014 and Scientific Chairman of Annual Conference- ISMPO in 2014. She is currently holding position of Scientific Chairman of API- West Bengal Chapter. Dr. Kar has held various organisational positions in Kolkata IMA and National IMA. She has been the Editor of 'Your Health' a publication of IMA. Currently she is the associate Editor of Journal of IMA (JIMA). She has been a regular Author in various editions of API textbook of Medicine.
