Academic Experience
Dr Lall was admitted in Nair hospital in 1973 as the student with the highest score in the qualifying exam. He continued to be awarded various prizes through his undergraduate studies. He passed his Post graduate MD exam in 1981 in General medicine for which he was awarded two gold medals for standing first in the Mumbai University. He was also awarded a Gold medal for his performance at the FCPS exam. He later took up a super specialization in Cardiology (DM Cardiology) and has been in private practice since 1984.
Work Experience
- Dr Lall practices at Cardiac Care Center which is situated in Panchsheel Plaza on Hughes road in South Mumbai. He sees patients at his clinic in the morning and evening hours.
- Interventions are performed at most South Mumbai hospitals but primarily at Saifee and Sir HN Reliance hospitals. He performs about 40 to 50 procedures each month most of which are done via the Radial route. The advantages of the radial route are early mobilization and less bleeding risk. Most patients also prefer this approach.
- Dr Lall has a series of more than 400 patients treated by Primary angioplasty. This is an emergency procedure where a patient suffering from a heart attack is taken up as an emergency and the culprit artery is opened by implantation of a stent. Patients who are subjected to this procedure have a decreased mortality and a much quicker return to an active life.
- Dr Lall also lately has an interest in the performance of CTO angioplasty. This is the opening of an totally occluded artery by various specialized techniques. He has attended various workshops and conferences abroad for this procedure.
Academic Enhancements
- Presentations & Participation as Faculty at International Conferences:
- Was invited as a guest faculty at the EURO PCR 2016
- Was on the advisory faculty of TCT (Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics) between 2010 and 2016.
- Presented a challenging case of Primary angioplasty in Myocardial infarction during TCT 2015.
- Attended a CTO conference in New York in 2015 as an associate faculty.
- At the Euro PCR held in May 2012 was invited as a guest faculty and presented a case in the “How to Treat” session.
- Was on the advisory faculty of the Euro PCRheld in Paris in May 2011.
- Was on the faculty of the Asia PCR Live held in Singapore in January 2011 and presented a complex Coronary Angioplasty case in the "How to Treat"
session. - At the EURO PCR 2010 presented a paper on Left main bifurcation
angioplasty. - At the Asia PCR in Singapore 2010 presented a complex PAMI case and
participated in a teaching session on antegrade CTO. - Conferences attended:
- Attended the TCT from 2006 to 2016 and also attended virtual reality sessions on IVUS and rotablation and thromboaspiration in AMI

A Coronary Angiogram is a specialized x-ray which is the most definite test to detect blockages in the heart arteries. In this procedure, dye is injected through the wrist ( or the groin) and your doctor can visualize the heart arteries on a TV screen.

After doing an Angiography, in case any of the coronary arteries are found to be blocked, a procedure called Coronary Angioplasty is performed.
In this Procedure the blocked area is opened up and a stent is placed in that part to prevent it from closing down again.

To maintain good cardiovascular health follow these 8 principles
1. Maintain a healthy diet. Lots of green vegetables, salads and fruits. Restrict on oily foods, fried foods and sweets.
2. Exercise regularly. Moderate intensity exercise like brisk walking for about 150 minutes per week.
3. Keep your weight within a BMI of 25 Kg/m2
4. Avoid tobacco in any form.
5. Try to get 6-8 hours of sleep.
6. Check your blood pressure and keep it less than 130/80
7. Keep your LDL cholesterol around 70
8. If you have diabetes keep your HbA1c<7.0
