Dr. Anand B Kakani is a skilled Neurosurgeon practising at Radiant Superspeciality Hospital in Amravati, Maharashtra. Being the only neurosurgeon in the city, he has had ample opportunities to handle all kinds of neurosurgical cases. He has developed a special interest in neurotraumatology and neurooncology. In the last three years he has managed more than 1,000 cases of head injuries and has operated on more than 400 cases of various neurosurgical problems.

A graduate of Nagpur University (MBBS), Dr. Kakani completed his Masters in General Surgery from PGIMER Chandigarh and MCh in Neurosurgery from Mumbai University. He also underwent a Fellowship in Microneurovascular Surgery at Fujita Health University in Japan from October to December 2008. Dr. Kakani served as Registrar, Neurosurgery at Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences in Mumbai for three years (2004-07) and Senior Registrar, Neurosurgery, at Sir JJ Group of Hospitals and Grant Medical College in Mumbai from October 2007 to March 2008.

Apart from his clinical and administrative work, the medical college environment also gave Dr. Kakani an opportunity to teach the basics of neurosurgical science to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
