Prof. Dr. Ramanath L Kamath, based in the city of Mangalore, is a highly experienced Interventional Cardiologist who has been practising since 1986. For the last 20 years, since July 1994, Dr. Kamath has been designated as Professor of Cardiology at KMC Mangalore. He has held other teaching posts in the past, including Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor of Cardiology at KMC Manipal; and, Assistant Professor of Cardiology and Associate Professor at KMC Mangalore. Apart from KMC, Dr. Kamath currently consults at RL Heart Foundation and Yenepoya Speciality Hospital in Mangalore. 

Dr. Kamath completed his MBBS in 1975 from Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, and went on to do his MD in 1979 from the same institute. In addition to this, he acquired a DM in Cardiology in 1984. He also underwent advanced training at the University of Alabama, USA, in 1989.

Dr. Kamath has attended and participated in various national and international conferences on Interventional Cardiology since the year 2000. He is a frequent participant and speaker at Cardiology-related Guest Lectures at state-, regional- and national-level events. He has published and presented a few of his own research papers, and also serves as a Thesis Guide for postgraduate students.
