A calculus is a stone (concentrated with mineral salts) forms in an organ or duct of the body. Calculus of gall bladder / bile duct is primarily developed from bile salts and cholesterol derivatives. Bile duct is a small tube that carries bile from the gallbladder to the intestine. Choledocholithiasis is a disease of the common bile duct.

There are no symptoms unless there are stones that block common bile duct. The common symptoms can be:
- Pain in the upper or middle upper abdomen
- Fever
- Loss of appetite
- Nausea and vomiting
- Jaundice
- Clay-colored stools

Consult a doctor if you have signs of blockage, surgery is performed to remove the gallbladder and the stones.
