Boils near vaginal area

Dear Patient: From your history and description, it seems that you are having recurrent furunculosis ( boils). A furuncle is an infection around the hair follicle and is common in overweight individuals in sweaty areas. Since the cream alone is not helping you, you could benefit from taking a course of oral antibiotics like cloxacillin or cephalexin for 5-7 days .

I would suggest to send the pus for culture and sensitivity test prior to starting antibiotic to determine the organism. Keep the area as dry as possible. You could also check your blood sugar levels to rule out diabetes.
