My serum creatinine is 1.38 G. Is it normal level or any problem ?

Dear Doctor: ?

Dear Patient: Hypertension under control is a good sign. But it should be clinically assured, as mere absence of symptoms does not necessarily be under control. Hypertension affects the blood vessels mostly the end arteries. It can cause damage to retina(in eyes), kidneys, brain etc. Hypertension causes the constriction of blood vessels supplying the kidneys(renal arteries and arterioles). This results in damage to parts of kidney and its subsequent loss of function. Hence the major function-removal of wastes from blood-is hampered and can be manifested as a rise in the levels of those wastes in the blood. Your creatinine levels in serum seem to be slightly above the normal range of 0.6 to 1.2 milligrams per decilitre of blood. Though not big problem to worry, its better you consult a good nephrologist to address your concern
