Coughing up blood

Dear Patient: Chest is surrounded by rib cage. So lump in chest, when palpable is less likely to cause hemoptysis (spitting of blood). Cancer can appear at any age and lump in the chest and hemoptysis can be caused by carcinoma lung. And carcinoma lung is potentially dangerous condition and should be treated immediately.
